Dr. John Wells

Dr. John Wells has been practicing pediatric dentistry in Hendricks County since 1999. He graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 1976 with a degree in Microbiology. He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 1983. He practiced general dentistry in rural Kentucky for fourteen years. Working with children was Dr. Wells' favorite part of his practice, so he chose to specialize in pediatric dentistry. He received his pediatric dental specialty certificate after training at the Riley Hospital for Children and the Indiana University School of Dentistry from 1997 to 1999.

In addition to maintaining a practice in Brownsburg, Dr. Wells has taught lectures at the Indiana University School of Dentistry and Riley Hospital Pediatric Dental Program. He also has privileges at Hendricks Regional Health.

Dr. Wells is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the Academy of General Practice Orthodontics. He is past-president of the Indiana Society for Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Wells, and his wife, Lavada, reside in Avon, Indiana, and are the parents of three children.

Lavada Wells
Practice Administrator

Lavada has been married to Dr. Wells since 1976. She has worked alongside him from the beginning of his dental career, as a dental assistant and managing the business. During that time she has also taught children with Learning Disabilities in Kentucky for 15 years. While coordinating the building of Hendricks Pediatric Dentistry, she taught part-time in Indiana for one year. The magazine, “Back Home In Kentucky,” published an article she authored.

Lavada and Dr. Wells are the parents of three children who grew up working in the practice when they were not in school. Their daughter, Sarah, and her husband, Michael, are the parents of their grandchildren, Maya and Carter. Sarah currently works full time in the practice. Their sons, Joseph and John Robert are both preparing for medical careers.

In her spare time, Lavada enjoys spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She likes to travel to new places, enjoys music, puzzles and painting pottery with friends. Lavada is active in her church and believes if you put God first, everything else will fall into place.

Fun Dental Fact: The sequence that foods are eaten can determine the risk for cavities. If you eat sugary foods after meals, you decrease the chance for cavities, as opposed to eating sugary foods alone.


Jodi
Office Manager

Jodi has been working for Dr. Wells since 2006. She has an Associates Degree in Graphic Arts from Andrews University in Michigan. Jodi loves spending time with her loving husband, Mike, and her two children, a daughter, Danielle “Dani”, and a son, Ryan. She also has three cats, Daisy, Sophie and Otto. Her favorite hobbies include crafts, cooking, reading, working puzzles, and bike riding.

Favorite Dental Fact: “Like fingerprints, everyone’s tongue print is different.”


Tammy
Treatment Coordinator, Certified Dental Assistant, Expanded Functions Dental Assistant, Tip Edge Ortho Training Certification, Coronal Polishing & Topical Fluoride Application Certification

Tammy has been working for Dr. Wells since 2004. She attended PCI for Dental Assisting and IU School of Dentistry for Expanded Functions in Dental Assisting. Prior to entering the dental field, she worked in a pre-school for eight years. Tammy is married to Eric, and has a daughter, Morgan. They have two dogs, a Yellow Lab named Jack, and a Yorkie named Chloe. Her favorite hobbies include being with family and friends, shopping, and going to Colts and Pacer games.

Sarah
Licensed Dental Hygienist

Sarah is the daughter of Dr. Wells and Lavada. She has been working for Dr. Wells part-time for as long as she can remember! Sarah also has her BS in Elementary Education from Ball State University. Sarah graduated from the Indiana University of Dental School in 2015 with an Associate degree in Dental Hygiene. She is also certified in administering local anesthesia. Sarah and her husband Michael live in Brownsburg and they have two children, Maya and Carter, and a dog named Lucy. In her spare time she enjoys crafts and music and is very active in their church.

Tori
Certified Dental Assistant, Coronal Polishing & Topical Fluoride Application Certification

Tori graduated from Brownsburg High School in 2011 and graduated from Kaplan College in 2012 for Dental Assisting. Tori completed her externship here with Dr. Wells, and has been employed since 2012. She is the proud aunt of Ian and has a Maine Coon Cat named Angel. A unique fact about Tori is that she is the third “Victoria Rose” in her family. One of Tori’s biggest passions is makeup. She loves to do makeovers. She is planning on getting a make-up artist certification in the future. Tori says, “Makeup is one of my biggest passions because it’s artistic and it can make people feel good about themselves”. Tori loves being a team player and is a very colorful and bright person who will light up your day!

Paige
Dental Assistant, Tip Edge Ortho Training Certificate, Coronal Polishing & Topical Fluoride Application Certification

Paige began working for Dr. Wells in 2004, as a front office assistant. She worked in the front office for about seven years and then moved to the clinical setting. She obtained a BS in Early Childhood/Primary (K-3) Education from Ball State University. Paige is married to her husband, Mark, and has two sons, Zarik and Dawson, a stepdaughter, Megan, and two dogs, Bentley and Cooper. She loves to play and watch football! She also loves to watch any sport her children are participating in—soccer, wrestling, baseball, and football. Paige loves to read and watch Young and the Restless. Paige has worked with children since high school either in the education field or here at the dental office. Her favorite part about working here is that she loves working with children, especially our Ortho patients and cleaning teeth in order to help make beautiful smiles!

Lindsey
Licensed Dental Hygienist

Lindsey has been a member of our team since 2011. She graduated from the University of Southern Indiana with BS in Dental Hygiene in 2011. She is also certified in administering local anesthesia. Lindsey is a proud member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association.

Lindsey grew up in West Lafayette and attended McCutcheon High School. She is now happily married to Jon and they live in Brownsburg. She loves volunteering and being a high school leader at her church, Traders Point Christian Church. Lindsey also enjoys spending time with family, playing volleyball, and shopping.

Kylie
Licensed Dental Hygienist

Kylie has been a part of our team since August of 2013. She attended the Indiana University School of Dentistry and graduated with an Associate degree in Dental Hygiene in 2013. She is also certified in administering local anesthesia. Kylie is married to her husband, Mitchell, and lives in Brownsburg. Kylie is an active member at her local church and enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Favorite Dental Fact: Eating cheese helps prevent cavities by increasing saliva production and reducing acid levels in your mouth, creating a more favorable environment to fight decay.


Lindsay
Accounts Manager

Lindsay began working for Dr. Wells in 2013. She grew up in Tipton, Indiana and went on to earn her degree in Family Studies from Ball State University. She now lives in Brownsburg with her husband, Britt, and their three dogs, Blake, Lucy and Bruno. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with friends and family, going for walks with her dogs, reading and doing crafts.

Favorite Dental Fact: Giraffes only have bottom teeth!


Kristy Redford
Certified Dental Assistant

Kristy graduated from Avon High School in 2012 and graduated from Kaplan College in 2015. She lives in Avon with her family and two boys, Bentley and Kaden. Kristy’s hobbies are spending time with her family, teaching her boys new things and being outdoors. Her son Bentley was diagnosed with Autism at 15 months. From doctor appointments to therapy he has come a long way and has taught her great patience. Kristy loves working with kids and making them laugh and smile.

Shannon Henry
Dental Assistant

Shannon graduated from Midwest Technical Institute in 2015 and became a member of our team. Shannon loves spending time with her two boys, Jacob and Carter. She enjoys playing Uno, reading books and watching Pixar movies (Finding Nemo is her favorite).

Favorite dental fact: 51 million school hours per year are lost because of dental related illness.
